What you'll do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor of designated specialty.
  • Stay current in specialty industry trends and standards.
  • Maintain and enhance network of industry leaders to support an informed curriculum within the specialty.
  • Manage faculty within assigned specialty.
  • Mentor and coach faculty, monitoring faculty performance to meet University and College of Nursing requirements.
  • Lead faculty meetings within specialty for both full-time and adjunct faculty, ensuring faculty are up to date with University and College of Nursing changes.
  • Facilitate a team environment within the specialty, encouraging open communication and shared governance.
  • Build rapport and maintain frequent communication with both full-time and adjunct faculty within the specialty.
  • Respond to and investigate student concerns, documenting progress and outcome in appropriate platforms.
  • Interview, hire, and manage onboarding of new faculty.
  • Keep updated shared record of current faculty (FT and adjunct).
  • Support an atmosphere of innovation and best practices, helping to lead MSN specialty program quality improvement.
  • Serve as a change leader within the MSN-SP programs.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What they require

  • Doctorate degree in the relevant discipline and area.
  • Specialty certification and relevant work experience within the specialty required
  • Three to five years teaching experience at the graduate level required.
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Incumbents will be evaluated, in part, based on performance of each essential function.

  • Ability to mentor and motivate adult learners in a distance-education environment.
