About the job: The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Telco Consultant to join us in LATAM. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Red Hat's products and services. Your expertise will contribute to the growth and sustainability of Red Hat's business. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of Red Hat platforms within client organizations. You will work closely with clients to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of their Red Hat environments, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise. Your primary responsibility will be to provide ongoing consulting and support services to ensure the successful operation and optimization of Red Hat products and solutions. You'll need to have excellent technical abilities and solid communication and customer-facing skills. We are seeking a candidate fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Spanish is the primary language for daily business and communication, with English and Portuguese used regularly across regional teams and stakeholders. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but your ability to learn new technology quickly will be essential. What you will do: Solution Implementation: Deploy, and optimize Red Hat infrastructure collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to deliver high-quality services and exceed client expectations. Consultation and Technical Support: Provide consulting services to clients, offering guidance and solutions to optimize the performance and stability of Red Hat technology solutions. Assist clients in resolving technical issues, providing troubleshooting, and recommending best practices. Proactive Maintenance: Conduct regular system analysis and performance tuning to identify potential areas of improvement. Implement optimization strategies, preventive measures and proactively address any potential issues to ensure the continuous operation of Red Hat solutions. Implement security measures and maintain compliance with industry standards to protect client systems and data. Platform Assessment and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of telco platforms, analyzing the current state, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending optimizations and best practices to enhance performance and reliability. Conduct regular system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization of Red Hat technologies. Platform Optimization: Collaborate with clients to develop and implement platform optimization strategies, focusing on areas such as capacity planning, system configuration, resource utilization, and performance tuning. Leverage industry best practices and Red Hat's technology stack to drive efficiency and scalability. Patch and Upgrades: Plan and execute system updates, patches, and upgrades for Red Hat software solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to client environments. Collaborate with clients to schedule and coordinate maintenance activities. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client environments, configurations, and support activities. Generate reports and provide regular updates to clients on the status of their systems, including performance metrics, incident summaries, and recommendations. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and telco-specific challenges. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements, recommending solutions to drive client satisfaction and deliver measurable business value. Share knowledge and best practices with clients and team members through workshops and documentation. Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor. Understand their business requirements and provide strategic guidance on how to leverage Red Hat solutions effectively. Identify opportunities for additional services and upselling. What you will bring: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Primary Language: Native or professional fluency in Spanish (written and spoken). Additional Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Portuguese. Experience in implementing, managing and supporting Red Hat technologies, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat OpenStack. Solid understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., KVM, Docker) Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible) Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose complex technical issues and provide effective solutions Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams Project management experience and familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus Understanding of the Telecommunications Operations and Maintenance procedures and best practices through work with at least one major service provider Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients of varying technical backgrounds. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Portuguese and Spanish. This position requires the willingness to travel up to 20-30 weeks per year on average across different time zones in the region Relevant Red Hat certifications, such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), are highly desirable. Public Cloud Certifications are a plus.
