Full-time remote faculty role teaching Bible/Christian Ministry and Spiritual Formation online for ACU Dallas. Requires a Master’s of Divinity or doctorate in Ministry, Bible, Theology or related field, full-time vocational ministry experience, online higher-ed teaching experience, and active membership in a Churches of Christ congregation.

Чем предстоит заниматься

  • Provide high-quality instruction, direction and support for students in the online classroom environment.
  • Participate as a faculty member in planning, development, and implementation of the General Education Bible and curriculum.
  • Provide rich and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical.
  • Facilitate general education Bible class sizes of up to approximately 30 students.
  • Be aligned with the goals of the Integrated Spiritual and Vocation Formation Plan in mission, teaching, planning, revision, and course creation.
  • Engage with students for holistic formation.
  • Answer student questions within 24 hours.
  • Hold synchronous sessions to address content and spiritual formation.
  • Walk with students pastorally and as academic guide.
  • Participate in online discussion for guidance and accountability.
  • Curate a hospitable online environment.
  • Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner.
  • Enter final course grades after consultation with the Program Director by the deadline.
  • Alert Program Director to any student issues, including performance issues and policy violation issues.
  • Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Handbook, Instructor Expectations, and those specified by ACU’s College of Leadership and Professional Studies.
  • Other duties, as assigned and directed by lead faculty and/or program director.
  • Provide feedback to the Program Director for program and/or course improvement.
  • Participate in program and faculty meetings.
  • Attend/complete program and CLPS faculty training and provide credentialing/records updates as required.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of trends and information pertaining to the program field through current practice, professional reading, active research and/or continuing education.

  • Master’s of Divinity or Doctorate degree in Ministry, Bible, Theology or a related degree from an accredited institution.
  • Past or current full-time experience in vocational ministry.
  • Online teaching experience in higher education in a master shell model with ACU Dallas.
  • Computer literate in software and internet-based applications.
  • Proficient in APA style (formatting, citation requirements, punctuation, etc.).
  • Well respected among adjunct faculty and the ACU system.
  • Ability to view and manage roles and responsibilities in relation to larger mission, goals and perspective of the University.
  • Collaborative nature with other faculty and reports, with the ability to build consensus.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and solves problems, asking for input and initiating solutions as appropriate and reasonable.
  • Capacity to quickly learn new applications and best practices in online andragogy.
  • Willingness to receive additional training and/or faculty mentoring.
  • Ability to demonstrate Christ and peacemaking/peace keeping responses when interacting with students, other faculty and staff.
  • Has a meaningful relationship with the Churches of Christ.
  • Has spiritual disciplines in place to remain holistically well (fatih community, Sabbath, prayer, etc.).
  • The majority of work is performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; applicants must have the ability to use the computer and remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Manage conversations in person, online and by phone.
  • Work well under pressure and manage stress well.
  • Communicate clearly: speak, read, write, and hear clearly to perform essential functions.
